YMCA is already getting $2.5 million from Simcoe County, a part of that is funded by Barrie taxpayers, and around $30 million from the provincial government.
It is just half of the total payment. The other half of the payment will come from Tourism Barrie. The motion was passed by the divided council by six to five votes.
